About Michael

Educated in both Minneapolis and Kansas City, Michael Letzig is a highly skilled, mid-career and legacy-driven artist formally based in NYC for 32 years and now in Palm Springs, CA.. His body of work consists of oil landscape painting, mixed media, contemporary works, linocuts and graphite drawings. He is also an accomplished and published illustrator. 

Letzig has shown his work at the Architectural Digest Home Design Show and in group exhibitions at galleries including Lyons-Wier, Atlantic, and Dacia in New York City. He has published with Random House, Harcourt-Brace, Scholastic, Holiday House, Sadlier Publishing, UNICEF, Macy's, Hallmark Cards, Gibson Greetings, Marcel Schurman, Portal Publications, Sunrise Greetings, and others.

You will find his work hanging in NYC, Florida, Palm Springs, Texas, Chicago, Kansas, Michigan, Maine as well as Internationally in Madrid, London, Germany, Milan, Sydney, Singapore and elsewhere.

Michael is also the founder of The Urban Art Shack – a creative passion project focusing solely on the dynamic, rich urban landscape and the iconography that emerges out of it. His arresting graphite drawings are restrained and elegant. His mixed media pieces capture the incidental & accidental spontaneity of the city experience. and presented as a unique pop-up gallery initiative throughout New York.
